Supermetrics for Claude: Set Up AI Campaign Creation

As of November 3, 2026, Supermetrics lets Claude create and edit ad campaigns on six platforms: Google Ads, Meta, Microsoft Advertising, TikTok, LinkedIn, and Snapchat. Every campaign Claude builds starts paused and stays paused until a person turns it on. If you have been waiting for a safe way to test AI campaign creation, this is the most guarded version we have seen so far. Here is what actually changed, how to set it up, and where the limits are.

What did Supermetrics announce on November 3?

Campaign management inside Claude is not brand new. Supermetrics shipped create and edit support for Google Ads, Meta, Microsoft Advertising, and TikTok in July 2026. The November 3 announcement extends creation and editing to LinkedIn and Snapchat, adds approval rules you can set per ad account, and introduces a Context Layer that stores your targets, naming conventions, and client-to-account mappings in plain language. PPC Land covered the announcement the same day.

Supermetrics says more than 6,000 customers have used its Claude connector since it launched in February 2026. The pitch is simple: the connector that answers your reporting questions can now act on what it finds, with a human sign-off in between.

How do you connect Supermetrics to Claude?

Setup takes a few minutes if you already run ads:

  1. In Claude, open Settings, then Connectors, and search for Supermetrics. You can also start from the Supermetrics site and click Try in Claude.
  2. Authenticate and pick the team Claude should work in. No subscription yet? A trial is created on your first login.
  3. Connect the ad accounts you want Claude to see. You need access to those accounts on the ad platforms themselves.
  4. Ask for something small first: summarize spend and conversions for the last 30 days across Google Ads and Meta. Confirm the numbers match what the platforms show before you let it build anything.

The full walkthrough is in the Supermetrics for Claude documentation.

What can Claude actually do with your ad accounts?

Three things: create, update, and view. You describe a campaign in plain English, including structure, ad groups, ads, targeting, and budget, and Claude builds it. You can copy a campaign from one platform to another, pause and reactivate campaigns, edit live ads, refine keywords, and adjust budgets across platforms in one instruction. On the read side it pulls spend, clicks, conversions, and return on ad spend, and it can draft ad copy from your historical performance data.

One honest caveat: as of early November 2026, the Supermetrics setup docs still list four creation platforms, with LinkedIn and Snapchat arriving per the November 3 announcement. If LinkedIn campaign creation is the reason you are signing up, confirm it is live on your plan before you commit.

What stops Claude from spending your budget?

Four guardrails. First, every campaign Claude creates starts in a paused state, so nothing spends until a person enables it. Second, proposed edits to existing campaigns are shown before they take effect, and you can ask for a full preview of a campaign before it goes live. Third, admins can set approval requirements per account, so an agency can hold client accounts to a stricter rule than its own sandbox. Fourth, every change lands in a Campaign History log in Supermetrics, showing what changed and when, and changes can be undone. The one thing no log can reverse is budget the ad platform already spent, which is exactly why the paused default matters.

What is the Context Layer?

The Context Layer stores the things you normally repeat in every prompt: performance targets, reporting rules, naming conventions, and which client maps to which ad account. You write them once in natural language, they apply at the team, platform, or account level, and they persist across conversations. If you have built agents before, this is the same lesson we keep landing on in custom connector work: the agent is only as good as the standing context you give it.

Should you let an AI build your campaigns?

The paused-by-default design makes this a drafting tool, not an autopilot, and that is the right way to use it. It fits teams that run campaigns on two or more platforms and keep rebuilding the same structures, and agencies that spend more time translating briefs into campaign shells than on strategy. It does not fix weak foundations: if your conversion tracking is wrong, Claude will draft confidently against bad numbers. Pricing starts at 39 euros a month as of November 2026, per Supermetrics, with the trial free.

We have run this same hands-on test before, with Claude Cowork's cloud release and with cold outbound from Claude via Smartlead. The pattern holds every time: connecting the tool is the easy part, and the standing instructions are the real work.

Frequently asked questions

Which ad platforms can Claude create campaigns on through Supermetrics?

Google Ads, Meta, Microsoft Advertising, and TikTok since July 2026, with LinkedIn and Snapchat added in the November 3, 2026 announcement. Other sources, including HubSpot and Google Analytics, stay read-only for analysis.

Can Claude launch a campaign without my approval?

No. Every campaign Claude creates through Supermetrics starts paused and stays paused until a person enables it, and admins can set approval requirements per ad account.

Do I need a paid Supermetrics plan to try it?

No. Connecting the Supermetrics connector in Claude creates a trial on your first login if you have no subscription. Paid plans start at 39 euros a month as of November 2026.

Does campaign creation work in ChatGPT too?

Not as of November 2026. Supermetrics' own September 2026 guidance said campaign changes run in supported Claude workflows and are not available through its ChatGPT integration.
