THE PLAY / FOR A U.S. COMPANY FORMATION AND COMPLIANCE SERVICE FOR GLOBAL FOUNDERS
Trigger
An automation rule enrolls the contact immediately on a high-intent action: When page is viewed on the pricing or demo pages, When form is submitted on the demo form, or a pop-up signup. Rules only fire for contacts HubSpot already knows, so the play sources nobody new.
Audience
Founders already known to HubSpot who just viewed the pricing or demo pages, filled a high-intent form or signed up through a pop-up, with no call booked: people outside the United States forming a U.S. company, and online sellers who already have a U.S. entity and need filings or an accountant.
Signals the agent reads
- Pricing page view
- Demo page view
- Form submission
- Country of residence
- Existing U.S. entity
- Monthly revenue
Selling angle
A founder reading a pricing page is choosing between plans, and the real question is which one fits where they are today. The play answers it from the record: a formation plan for founders who still need a U.S. entity, and a tax and compliance plan for those who already have one. Timing matters too, because tax ID numbers for non-U.S. founders can take weeks, so starting early is a genuine reason to act.
Outreach approach
Five emails, sent automatically, at least two days apart. The first goes out right after enrollment and names the plan that fits the record. The next four cover realistic timelines, what the first month looks like, one question about their setup and a low-pressure closing note. A reply, a booked meeting or 30 days ends the play.
- 01 / DAY 1Plan fit noteRecommends the formation plan or the tax and compliance plan based on residence and entity status, with one reason, and asks which fits.
- 02 / DAY 3Entity and tax ID timingExplains the realistic timeline for forming the entity, the tax ID and bank access, or for filings and an accountant consultation.
- 03 / DAY 5The first monthDescribes what happens in the first month after signing up, from documents to the first compliance reminder.
- 04 / DAY 7One question about their setupAsks one specific question, such as where they sell today or whether they already have a U.S. bank account.
- 05 / DAY 9Closing note on plan choiceOffers a 15-minute demo or a reply with country, entity status and start date, and offers to reconnect later if timing is far off.
Advanced instructions (excerpt)
CHECK THE RELATIONSHIP FIRST: Read the contact record before writing. If the contact is a customer, has an open deal or booked a demo, write nothing. THE PLAN: Check job title, company, country of residence, whether they already have a U.S. LLC or corporation, monthly revenue, current bookkeeping setup and timing, using only what the record holds. If the contact has no U.S. entity yet or lives outside the U.S., recommend the formation plan, which covers the LLC or C corporation filing, the tax ID, a registered agent and a U.S. business address. If they already have a U.S. entity and need tax filings or an accountant, recommend the tax and compliance plan. HOW TO REACH OUT: Five emails at least two days apart: plan fit, timelines, the first month, one question about their setup and a closing note. Refer to their interest in plans without describing how you know about it. Do not quote prices or invent dates, customers or discounts. Link the words book a 15-minute demo to the meeting link. Never say following up and never mention tracking.

SUBJECT The plan that fits a U.S. LLC from abroad
Hi [First name], Since you were looking at plans, here is which one usually fits. If you are forming a U.S. company from outside the U.S. and need the LLC, the tax ID, a registered agent and a business address to open a bank account, the formation plan covers that. If you already have a U.S. entity and want federal and state filings plus a call with a licensed accountant, the tax and compliance plan is the closer match. The entity is usually filed within a couple of business days. The tax ID is the slow step for non-U.S. founders, so starting early matters. Which of those sounds closer to where you are right now? Thanks,
Guardrails
- Never mention tracking, page views or how the contact was identified.
- Never quote prices, discounts or deadlines, and never promise timelines beyond the published ones.
- Give no tax or legal advice, including which entity type to choose.
- Contacts already in an open or won deal are never enrolled.
- Never say following up, and never use em or en dashes.
Setup in HubSpot
- Create automation rules for When page is viewed on the pricing and demo pages, When form is submitted on the demo form, and the pop-up signup list.
- Add exclusion segments for existing customers and contacts already in a deal.
- Save demo form answers (country, existing entity, revenue, timing) as contact properties so the agent can read them.
- Set the play to Send without review so the first email goes out right after enrollment.
- Send on business days, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM in the sales team's time zone, from a named sales lead, and switch it on with the other plays.
KPIs
- Demo bookings from enrolled contacts within 30 days of enrollment
- Reply rate per email, to see which angle works
- Plan recommended versus plan bought, to check the fit logic

Good questions.
Straight answers.
Why does daily contact suggestions stay at zero?
This play only works on people HubSpot already knows, enrolled by page-view, form and pop-up rules. Nothing is sourced from outside the CRM, so volume equals known high-intent traffic.
What if the record has no country or entity data?
The first email asks the question instead of guessing. Saving demo form answers as contact properties is the setup step that makes the plan recommendation accurate.
Why mention timelines?
For founders outside the U.S., the tax ID can take weeks. A factual timeline gives a real reason to start now without inventing urgency.
