Zoom Just Became a Sales Engagement Vendor: Engage, Forecast, and ZRA Elite Explained

Zoom revenue OS: Engage, Forecast, and ZRA Elite stacked as glowing layers

Zoom announced Engage, Forecast, and a new ZRA Elite tier for Zoom Revenue Accelerator on September 15, 2026, and put Common Room by Zoom on sale the same day. That combination is a sales engagement platform, a forecasting engine, and a buyer intelligence layer inside a product most B2B teams already pay for. Zoom is no longer just hosting your demo calls. It is now competing with Outreach, Salesloft, Gong, and Clari for the rest of your revenue stack.

The press release calls it an AI-powered revenue OS that unifies buyer intelligence, customer conversations, and revenue execution. Strip the framing and there are four concrete things to evaluate.

What did Zoom actually announce on September 15?

Engage builds multichannel sales sequences across email, phone, and other channels, and uses buyer signals to prioritize which prospect a rep touches next. That is the core job of Salesloft, Outreach, and lighter sequencing tools like Reply.io and lemlist.

Forecast turns deal-level signals into a live revenue forecast, from the company-wide commit down to individual opportunities, and writes deal updates back to the CRM. That is Clari territory.

ZRA Elite is the new top tier that contains both, sold above the existing Essentials and Premium tiers. Zoom has not published Elite pricing. If the number matters to your budget, it comes out of a sales conversation, not a pricing page.

Common Room by Zoom is now generally available for purchase. Zoom announced the Common Room acquisition on July 2, 2026, terms undisclosed. It supplies the person-level buyer signals that feed everything above.

Zoom also cited one customer, Barracuda Networks, reporting a 15 percent increase in deals closed and 5 percent faster deal velocity with Zoom Revenue Accelerator. Treat that as what it is: a vendor-selected quote with no baseline period stated.

Is Zoom Engage a replacement for Outreach or Salesloft?

For most teams, not yet. Engage is a version-one feature going up against platforms that have spent a decade on deliverability, admin controls, and integrations. But that is the wrong bar. The right question is whether a team already paying for ZRA needs a second tool for sequences at all, and what that possibility does to your renewal leverage today.

Why the sales engagement layer is collapsing into platforms

This is the third consolidation datapoint in under a year. Clari and Salesloft completed their merger last December, putting forecasting and engagement under one roof. Salesforce shipped its Hunter and Piper AI SDR agents last week, which we broke down in Salesforce Hunter and Piper: The AI SDR Goes Mainstream. Now Zoom bundles sequences, forecasting, and buyer intelligence into the platform where the sales calls already happen.

The pattern is consistent: sales engagement is turning into a feature of platforms with distribution rather than a standalone category. Standalone vendors will not disappear, but every one of them walks into 2027 renewals across from buyers who can credibly say the meetings platform now does this.

What should your revenue team do now?

Three moves, none of which involve ripping anything out this week.

First, inventory the overlap before your next renewal. If you pay separately for sequencing, conversation intelligence, forecasting, and intent signals, list the contracts and dates now. The overlap is your negotiating leverage even if you never switch.

Second, ask Zoom for Elite pricing even if you have no intention of buying. An undisclosed price is only useless if nobody requests it. A real quote in hand changes your Outreach or Salesloft renewal conversation.

Third, if this announcement is what finally pushes you toward an AI-assisted prospecting motion, remember that the system design matters more than the vendor. Signals, sequences, and handoffs have to be built and tuned around your ICP, and your reps still man the seat. That is exactly the work in our AI SDR prospecting engine build.
