Apollo Is Now in Claude: What the Integration Actually Does

Apollo is now in Claude

Apollo now runs inside Claude. Apollo's first-party connector went live in Claude's connector directory this month, and the two companies are co-hosting a launch webinar today (October 15) with Apollo CRO Adam Carr and Anthropic's Head of SMB Lina Ochman. The short version: you can now search Apollo's contact database, enrich records, update your Apollo CRM, and build or fill sequences from a Claude chat, in plain English, with no API keys. It works on any Claude plan, including free. Here is what it actually does, how to turn it on, and the catches Apollo's own documentation flags before you let an AI spend your credits.

What did Apollo launch in Claude?

A first-party Apollo connector, in beta, that runs on Apollo's MCP server behind the scenes. Once connected, Claude can run real Apollo actions from conversation: search for people and companies, pull firmographics and open job postings, enrich contacts with verified emails and direct dials, create or update contacts and accounts, send one-off emails, build and refine sequences, enroll or remove contacts from them, manage tasks, and query performance analytics. Apollo's knowledge base article (updated October 9) and its integration page carry the full action list.

This is the same headless pattern we covered when Klaviyo opened 260+ MCP tools and when CRMs started moving into ChatGPT and Claude. The GTM stack is becoming something you talk to, not something you click through.

How do you connect Apollo to Claude?

In Claude, go to Customize, then Connectors, find Apollo.io, connect, and authorize. Three things worth knowing. First, every user connects individually; there is no team or admin-level setup. Second, you set a permission level per action: always allow, approval required, or blocked. Apollo recommends requiring approval on anything that consumes credits, and that is the right call. Third, Apollo prohibits model training with MCP integrations, so you must turn off model training in your Claude settings before connecting. A work email is required on the Apollo side; Gmail and Yahoo addresses are not supported.

What does it cost?

The connector itself is free and works with any Claude subscription, including free accounts. Your Apollo plan is what meters it: enrichment and similar actions consume Apollo credits exactly as they would in the app, and your permission profile, plan limits, and API rate limits all still apply. If you are not on Apollo yet, the free plan is enough to test the Claude workflow before you pay for credits.

What should you actually use it for?

The win is compression. "Find 25 VPs of RevOps at US fintechs that are hiring SDRs, enrich the best 10, and draft a three-step sequence" was five tool sessions last month. Now it is one conversation, with approval prompts where money gets spent. We walked through Apollo's broader agent push in Apollo's AI GTM system: what is actually live, and this connector is the missing distribution piece: Apollo stops being a tab and becomes a capability inside the assistant you already use. Claude users who want the rest of their stack to work this way should also see what Claude's cloud Cowork move changed, and if you are new to Claude, a free Claude guest pass gets you started.

Does this replace your SDR workflow?

Not yet. It replaces the clicking, not the thinking. The beta misses are real: search results come back without contact info until you spend enrichment credits, enriched records do not save to Apollo automatically (so they can vanish from your exports), and per-user setup means your team's permissions will drift unless someone owns the rollout. Treat it like a very fast junior operator: give it scoped tasks, require approval on credit spend, and audit what it writes to your CRM for the first two weeks. If you want this wired into a full prospecting motion, with signals, sequencing rules, and guardrails, that is exactly what we build in the AI SDR prospecting engine, or talk to an expert and we will map it to your stack.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Apollo Claude integration free?

The connector is free and works on any Claude plan, including free accounts. Apollo credits still apply: enrichment and other credit-consuming actions draw from your Apollo plan's balance.

How do I connect Apollo to Claude?

In Claude, open Customize, then Connectors, find Apollo.io, and authorize it. Each user connects their own account, sets per-action permissions, and must turn off Claude model training first per Apollo's requirements.

Can Claude send emails and sequences through Apollo?

Yes. Claude can send one-off emails, build and refine sequences, and enroll or remove contacts, limited by whatever your Apollo permission profile and plan already allow.

Does the integration use Apollo MCP?

Yes. The connector runs on Apollo's MCP server. Teams that prefer manual control can connect Apollo MCP directly, and Apollo also ships a separate Cowork plugin and a CLI.
